Caring for your candles
Our candles are made to provide you with hours of beautiful fragrance. To keep them looking and working their best (and safest), follow our tips to enjoy a complete scent experience and maintain the quality of your candle for longer.
HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR CANDLE
Burn your candle for at least three to four hours on the first use. If you don't, you run the risk of burning straight down the centre of the candle (tunnelling) and missing out on precious hours of fragrance.
To avoid tunnelling ensure the melted wax reaches the edges during each burn.
Trim the candle wick with a wick trimmer before each use (to 5mm). If the wick is too long, it will put off soot and black smoke, plus burn faster.
Do not burn continuously for more than four hours.
Always keep the candle away from children and pets.
Only burn on level, heat-resistant surfaces. Please also be aware that placing a hot candle on a cool surface like marble or glass may cause the vessel to crack.
Keep candle free of dust and foreign materials as these can dull the scent and cause problems during burning.
Keep lit candles in view and never leave a lit candle unattended.
Lit candles are very hot so never touch the candle jar.
Never burn the candle to the bottom of the jar, only to the last 10mm of wax. Otherwise, it could result in the jar overheating and cause a fire.
HOW TO STORE YOUR CANDLE
When your candle isn't in use, store it in a cool dry place and replace the dust cover to protect the wax from dust.
Condensation on the surface of a candle is a sign it has not been stored correctly or has been stored for too long. Make sure to wipe this away with a paper towel before lighting.
Storing candles for too long can affect the scent, so use your candle in a reasonable time to make the most of its beautiful fragrance.
